2020 – A Year of Limitations

This year has been for us, a year of limitations, with a raging pandemic that just won’t quit, a looming economic crisis, unemployment, businesses filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, industries on the verge of bankruptcy.

Not to mention our anxiety over an unprecedented (oft-repeated word) election process as we have waited for votes to be counted.

Much has been made of stress and depression in the news as these mental issues relate to our problems.

On the other hand, while this has been a year of limitations, there is also a flip side.

There are people who are, seemingly, “crushing it”, as we have been forced to move online to shop, keep fit, study, and so on.

Opportunities for reducing stress in our lives and helping others to do so abound.

As much as stress is a part of our everyday lives, is it important that we practice some of the best possible ways to help us relax.

Stress can manifest itself in many ways causing physical, emotional, or even mental issues.

It is therefore very critical for those of us who are stressed to

  • recognize the source of stress and
  • find the optimal approach to either minimize or end it.

The Law of Attraction and Managing Stress

The law of attraction together with stress management can help you achieve the much needed balance.

And although most stress reduction techniques are subjective; meaning that what may work for you may not work for another, the law of attraction can work for almost anyone.

The law basically uses the power of the mind to achieve a specific outcome where the subconscious is trained to work with us.

It is simply using our thoughts to attract what we want.

How to Use the Law of Attraction to Reduce Stress

There are four steps to be followed when using the law of attraction to reduce or end stress:

Step 1. Focus on what you want.

Take some time to think about what is causing your stress.

Is it your partner..?

…school?

…work?

A pandemic?

Would you get a different job to have peace of mind?

You should focus on what you really want and ONLY what you want.

An exercise you might find it useful is to make a rough sketch of what you want.

Step 2. Ask for what you want.

Once your focus is on whatever it is that you want, it is now the time to put the power of your mind to work.

Whether you want to choose a different partner, apply for a better pay job, ask for a raise, or explore your talent.

Let the universe “feel” and know your desire.

To align yourself with the universe, your thoughts AND emotions must work together.

Asking for what you want might, at first, look like the following statements:

I want to be happy,
I want to be healthy,
I want to be wealthy,
I want to be free.

We’ll talk about getting specific in another post.

Step 3. Visualize whatever you want.

To visualize whatever you want is to see what it is you desire in your mind.

For people who find mental visualization difficult, make a vision board and find pictures of what you want and stick them on it.

Sketches are also helpful to help fix those images in your mind.

Positive thinking is critical in the law of attraction.

Why?

Because negative thoughts and fear will arise.

That plane ride is going to get bumpy as it hits turbulence.

You must remember to focus on what you want and ONLY on what you want.

The moment you start dwelling on pessimism and doubt it is said that you stop the law of attraction in its tracks.

When things do not materialize you just might have justification for why your life is the way it is.

Step 4. Let go of your preconceptions.

Remember step 1 where you did the exercise of making the rough sketch?

Don’t become emotionally attached to it.

You never know.

There may be another way to achieve your goals and thus reduce your stress levels that you’ve never thought of.

It is for this reason that you should always remain open for other opportunities to improve your life.

This can mean extra cash from working overtime, getting another job, or even getting your superior’s job.

It could be an opportunity to start a business.

Or something else completely unexpected happens.

By the way. Promise me something. When following step 2. NO BEGGING. The universe is not like a parent who is going to feel insulted or slighted when you MAKE YOUR DEMANDS.
